Schedule season is upon us! We learned last week that the Sixers would play in Boston on Christmas as part of that annual holiday slate. Today, reports started rolling out about who would be squaring off to open up the campaign in October. Our two pairings for opening night on Oct. 22 are as follows:

Boston and New York makes perfect sense, pitting the defending champs against a Knicks squad that narrowly missed the Eastern Conference Finals and just made a major move to complete Villanova Voltron by adding Mikal Bridges. However, I can’t say as a Philadelphia fan that I’m super excited to watch this contest. Maybe Jayson Tatum’s Olympics slump can carry over and the media can drive some ‘Is this now Jaylen Brown’s team?’ nonsense to make the Celtics look dysfunctional? One can hope.

As for the night game, LeBron James’ star power wins out again, although I don’t know that anyone is particularly excited about watching the Lakers play this season. Minnesota is a fun story, though, coming off a Conference Finals appearance for the first time in 20 years. I’m all in on any Anthony Edwards content right now, as well.
